Ramsay shines but Kedron-Wavell Wolves remain winless

CHRISTIAN Ramsay scored two goals for Kedron-Wavell, but it wasn’t enough for the Wolves to overcome Norths in their Brisbane Hockey League match at the State Hockey Centre on Saturday.

Ramsay’s goals twice tied the scores against the Eagles, but Norths emerged with a 3-2 victory.

The teams went goal for goal, with Mitchell Grant and Dan Smallwood scoring for Norths and Ramsay scoring two times as the first half ended 2-2.

Norths goalkeeper Chris Dick saved a penalty stroke from Ramsay with the score 2-2 in the second half, before Jared Campbell scored the match winning goal for the Eagles.

Lewis Fossey became the youngest player to play Division 1 men’s hockey for Kedron-Wavell, making his first-grade debut at the age of 13 years and 363 days.

Norths 3 (Mitchell Grant, Dan Smallwood, Jared Campbell) defeated Kedron-Wavell 2 (Christian Ramsay 2). Halftime score: 2-2.
