Drugs and weapons arrest, Brighton

POLICE have charged a man after the alleged discovery of illicit drugs, weapons and cash in Brighton on July 4.

Shortly before noon, officers were called following a disturbance at a Beaconsfield Terrace address, MyPolice.qld.gov.au reported.

Police said that during investigations they found methylamphetmines, cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Also located were three Tasers disguised as mobile phones and a quantity of cash, police allege.

A 29-year-old Brighton man was charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possess utensils, possession of property suspected of being proceeds under the Drugs Misuse Act, unlawful possession of a controlled drug, unlawful possession of a weapon Category D/H/R and contravention of a Domestic Violence order.

He is expected to appear in the Sandgate Magistrates Court on July 17.
