Shannon Tobin (left, wearing cap) and Megan Kelly – the season’s top goal shooter – can’t grab this one in the A-Grade preliminary final.

KEDRON Lions Red dumped clubmates Kedron Lions Gold out of the Athlete’s Foot Chermside Brisbane A-Grade netball competition played at Bradbury Park, Chermside, each Wednesday night.

After a season’s dominance by the Gold team, few would have predicted an upset 48 to 40 win by Red, who now face the Rawesomes juggernaut in the A Grade final on Wednesday night.

Little separated the teams during the first quarter with both teams recording 14 attempts at goal. The more accurate goaling from Red’s Megan Kelly and Shannon Tobin saw the Red team sneak ahead by two goals at the first break.

Gold pushed much harder in the second quarter and had the lion’s share of possession but failed to capitalise with a conversion rate just under 60%, whilst the conversation rate of over 75% for Red enabled them to limit the damage to being down by only one goal that quarter.
